Jetway is backing the Apprenticeships Good for our Business Scheme.
Jetway has a long tradition of assisting local schools and colleges by offering work experience placements for pupils who may be considering a carrier in the manufacturing sector. We also offer apprenticeship opportunity's to local youngsters as a means of ensuring the company's skills base, well into the future. We currently have two apprentices, Tom, who is into his second year now and Dave who has recently joined us.
Our aim is to give our apprentices a solid foundation in as many engineering disciplines as possible before allowing them to specialise in their chosen field be it Welding, CNC Machining or working with CAD. To these ends we are working closely with both Avon Vale Training and Wiltshire College to provide the very best training tailored to meet there individual capabilities and aspirations.
Tom is already a very competent welder, experienced in both TIG & MIG disciplines, he recently gained "Welder Approval" in connection with a contract Jetway are involved with for Tube Lines Ltd. Jetway continues to invest in the Apprenticeship programme as part of it's on going succession planning and expects to take further apprentices on in 2012.
